Smart mat for monitoring hospitalized animals
Lab project
Vetium
Vetium is a smart monitoring system for hospitalized animals in veterinary clinics, especially during night shifts. Research project in collaboration with the University of Hradec Králové.

Problem
Night rounds for hospitalized animals are demanding and time-consuming. Veterinarians and nurses must physically check patients every 30-60 minutes. There is a lack of continuous monitoring and early detection of complications.
Solution
Smart mat that continuously measures vital signs (breathing, heart rate, movement). Data is sent to an app where staff monitors remotely. The system automatically alerts veterinarians when conditions change.
