Case · HR / legal compliance

Shift planning without the risk of fines.

A drag&drop calendar that watches labor-law compliance and warns in advance.

Model case: we assume the company looks like this and show how much it would yield.

Starting point

The risk in Excel

The new shift planning rules, especially the continuous rest requirement, are hard to keep track of in Excel. A mistake risks fines and a breach of the Labour Code. The system checks the rules automatically and won't let you save an error.

  1. Before

Rule errors, fines, breaches of the law

    MANUAL WORK

  2. After

The system won't let you save a forbidden shift

    AUTOMATIC CHECK

Rollout steps

How the rollout would go.

  1. 01

    DAY 01

    Introducing the rules

The Labour Code rules written straight into the database.

  2. 02

    DAY 05

    Interactive calendar

Building a calendar with drag-and-drop shifts in Lovable and a rule check the moment something changes.

    supabase.rpc('check_shift_overlap')

  3. 03

    DAY 12

    Testing different situations

Verifying exceptional situations and the payroll inputs.

Model assumptions

Where the result comes from.

We take a typical company from the sector and the situation from the brief, add labelled assumptions and calculate the result. If the inputs change, so does the result, so you can recalculate it for your own company.

Model company

A model company with shift work where shifts are planned in Excel and the labor code amendment (continuous rest) is hard to enforce in a spreadsheet.

Inputs

Shift planning and rule checks in Excel (assumption)
8 h a week
Planning in the calendar with automatic checks (assumption)
3 h a week
Labor rate (assumption)
24 EUR / h

Calculation step by step

  1. 01

    Time saved per week

    8 h − 3 h= 5 h

  2. 02

    Time saved per year

    5 h × 52= 260 h

  3. 03

Value of the saved time per year

    260 h × 24 EUR= 6,240 EUR

This is a gross saving of time and money. We include the cost of rollout and running only where it is visible in the calculation.

  1. Model results

    What would change after rollout.

  2. Model case

    −5 h/week

Planning and rule checks: 8 h → 3 h. The system will not save a forbidden shift

    Time

  3. Model case

    6,240 EUR/year

    260 h × 24 EUR

    Cost of time

Your numbers belong in the model, not ours. The calculator shows where to start, and we work out the real values on your data.

15 minutes is enough for you to know whether it makes sense.

You tell us what is bothering you. We tell you whether we can help, roughly what it costs and where I would start in your place. No presentation.
